62200

Siemens 62200 - Block : Start spindle

Block: Start spindle

Stop prior to thread machining, as the spindle is in stop position

Root Cause Summary

Alarm 62200 fires when threading cycles (ASUP, E_TR_CON, F_TR_CON) are invoked with the spindle in M5 stop state rather than in synchronized rotation mode. The NCK detects spindle speed = 0 RPM at block execution, preventing thread pitch synchronization required for helical interpolation.

Safety

  • Spindle hazard: ensure the spindle is at standstill before working near it; follow lockout/tagout procedures.

Causes and Fixes

  1. 1

Insert M3 or M4 command 2-3 blocks before the threading cycle to activate spindle rotation. Example: M3 S1200 (clockwise at 1200 RPM).

  2. 2

Verify spindle speed via HMI Diagnostics > Actual Values > Spindle or check SD42900 parameter. Confirm RPM > MD20150 spindle minimum threshold (typically 10-50 RPM).

Do not proceed with threading if actual speed fluctuates or reads zero.

  3. 3

Add dwell time (G04 P1.0) after M3 command to allow spindle encoder synchronization and speed stabilization before ASUP/E_TR_CON block executes.

  4. 4

Re-execute the program. Monitor Diagnostics > Alarms to confirm 62200 clears and threading cycle initiates.
