The alarm is triggerd by the following cycles: CYCLE971, CYCLE972, CYCLE974, CYCLE977, CYCLE978, CYCLE979, CYCLE982, CYCLE994 Remedy: The difference between actual and setpoint value is larger than tolerance parameter _TDIF, tool data are not corrected.

Safety
Refer to Siemens documentation
Ensure qualified technician performs repairs
Common Causes
Actual measurement value deviates from expected setpoint beyond the tolerance defined in _TDIF parameter
Tool offset or tool length compensation data not properly stored or corrupted in tool table
Probe calibration error or probe contact force inconsistent during measurement cycle
Machine axis positioning error or backlash causing incorrect actual values during probing
Cycle parameters (feed rate, probe speed) set too aggressively preventing accurate measurement
Troubleshooting Steps
1Review the _TDIF parameter value in the active tool offset table and compare against actual measurement variance; increase tolerance if measurement scatter is consistent but within machine capability
2Re-calibrate the probe using a certified master or calibration standard, verify consistent probe contact force and repeatability over multiple cycles
3Check tool offset data in the tool table for the affected tool; clear corrupted entries and re-measure tool geometry using the measurement cycle with reduced feed rates
4Perform a backlash and positioning accuracy test on the affected axes; run a dry run of the measurement cycle without cutting to isolate probe vs. positioning issues
5Reduce feed rate and probe speed in cycle parameters, verify machine thermal stability, and confirm no mechanical play in spindle or probe holder before re-running the measurement cycle
