Siemens 61112 - Block : Tool radius negative
Alarm 61112 fires when a tool radius value stored in the tool offset table is negative, which violates SINUMERIK geometry requirements for cycles like CYCLE72 (roughing), CYCLE76 (finishing), CYCLE77 (threading), and CYCLE90 (deep hole drilling). Tool radius must always be positive; negative values cause immediate cycle rejection in the NCK interpreter.

Causes and Fixes
Access the Tool Offset Table via HMI menu: [PARAMETER] → [TOOL DATA] → [TOOL OFFSETS]. Identify the active tool from the alarm block number reference and locate its radius value (typically labeled as R or RADIUS).
Do not edit tool offsets while a cycle is active; stop the program first.
Verify the tool radius sign: positive values only (e.g., 6.5 for 6.5mm radius tool). If negative (e.g., -6.5), correct to positive value. Check MD10010 (TOOL_CHANGE_POS) and tool table storage location (typically SD43200 range for tool geometry).
Confirm tool definition in the tool table matches the physical tool geometry. Use tool pre-setter or calipers to measure actual tool radius; re-enter corrected value and press [SAVE].
Reset the NCK by cycling the machine power off/on or issuing NC Reset command. Re-run the program block to verify alarm 61112 clears.
