Siemens Alarm 6100 - Coordinate Frame Error
SINUMERIK alarm 6100 Frame Error occurs when the NCK cannot calculate a valid coordinate transformation matrix due to invalid frame parameters, conflicting transformations, or corrupted work offset data. The alarm prevents machine movement when TRANS, ROT, SCALE, MIRROR, or kinematic transformations like TRAORI result in singular or out-of-range matrices.
Siemens Alarm 6100 - Coordinate Frame Error
Frame Error
Siemens SINUMERIK alarm 6100: Frame Error. This alarm indicates a fault or error condition on the SINUMERIK 840D control. Refer to the Siemens SINUMERIK alarm documentation for the complete description and remedy.
Root Cause Summary
SINUMERIK alarm 6100 Frame Error occurs when the NCK cannot calculate a valid coordinate transformation matrix due to invalid frame parameters, conflicting transformations, or corrupted work offset data. The alarm prevents machine movement when TRANS, ROT, SCALE, MIRROR, or kinematic transformations like TRAORI result in singular or out-of-range matrices.
Safety
Causes and Fixes
Check Active Frame Commands
In HMI Diagnostics > NCK > Channel Data > Frames, verify current TRANS, ROT, SCALE values are within valid ranges and not causing matrix singularity.
Use G500 to reset all programmable frames and test if alarm clears
Verify Program Frame Syntax
Review NC program for proper frame command syntax. Check for SCALE values of zero, ROT angles causing gimbal lock, or TRANS coordinates exceeding machine data limits.
SCALE=0 or extremely small values will cause immediate frame calculation failure
Test Frame Reset
Execute G500 (cancel programmable frames) followed by individual frame commands to isolate which transformation is causing the matrix calculation error.
