Siemens 840D 10930 - Channel block interpolation type not allowed in stock removal

Channel block interpolation type not allowed in stock removal

The following types of interpolation are allowed in the contour program for stock removal: G00, G01, G02, G03, CIP, CT

Safety

  • Refer to Siemens documentation
  • Ensure qualified technician performs repairs

Common Causes

  • Unsupported G-code interpolation command used in stock removal cycle (G04, G05, ASPLINE, BSPLINE, POLY, etc.)
  • Contour program contains positioning or threading cycles incompatible with stock removal operation
  • Incorrect cycle selection or improper nesting of stock removal with incompatible motion commands
  • CAM post-processor generated invalid interpolation syntax for the stock removal context

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Review the contour program at the specified channel and block number to identify the invalid interpolation command
  2. 2Verify that only G00, G01, G02, G03, CIP, or CT commands are used within the stock removal cycle boundaries
  3. 3Check the stock removal cycle definition and ensure the contour subprogram is structured to exclude dwell times, threading, or other unsupported functions
  4. 4Edit the program to replace or remove the incompatible interpolation command, or restructure the cycle to isolate incompatible operations outside the stock removal block
  5. 5Regenerate the part program from CAM if applicable, ensuring post-processor is configured for stock removal compatible motion commands
