Siemens 840D 4073 - Compile cycle functions define machine data number several times

Compile cycle functions define machine data number several times

Can only occur when installing compile cycle functions. Two different compile cycle applications use the same machine data number. The machine data which was defined twice is shifted into the free number range above 64000.

Safety

  • Refer to Siemens documentation
  • Ensure qualified technician performs repairs

Common Causes

  • Multiple compile cycle function definitions referencing identical machine data numbers in configuration files
  • Duplicate machine data assignments during migration or system upgrade procedures
  • Conflicting custom cycle libraries loaded simultaneously with standard cycles
  • Incorrect editing or copying of cycle definition files without renumbering machine data references

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Review all active compile cycle function configuration files and cross-reference machine data number assignments to identify duplicates
  2. 2Check the machine data list above number 64000 to locate the reassigned parameter and trace it back to conflicting definitions
  3. 3Disable or remove one of the conflicting cycle function definitions, then perform a system restart and recompile
  4. 4Verify no duplicate machine data numbers exist in SINUMERIK Integrate or HMI configuration tools before reloading cycle parameters
  5. 5If using custom cycles, audit the cycle library source code and reassign unique machine data numbers to conflicting definitions, then recompile and test
