Siemens 4101 - Position control cycle for digital drive reduced to ms
Alarm 4101 fires when MD 10060 POSCTRL_SYSCLOCK_TIME_RATIO is configured with a divisor that produces a position control cycle time exceeding 16 ms, which exceeds the maximum permissible cycle time for the 611D drive actuator. The NCK position control loop cannot maintain synchronization with the 611D servo drive firmware specifications when this threshold is violated.
Siemens 4101 - Position control cycle for digital drive reduced to ms
Position control cycle for digital drive reduced to ms
The position control clock divisor in the NCK MD 10060 POSCTRL_SYSCLOCK_TIME_RATIO was set such that a position control cycle time of more than 16 ms resulted. The boundary value for the drive actuator 611D is however 16 ms Control reaction: Alarm display.

Safety
Causes and Fixes
Navigate to Diagnostics > Machine Data > MD 10060 in the NCK parameter menu or via SINUMERIK HMI. Record the current integer divisor value.
Do not modify yet; document baseline.
Calculate actual cycle time: Base clock (3.2 ms) × divisor value. If result > 16 ms, this confirms the root cause. For 611D compatibility, divisor must not exceed 5 (5 × 3.2 ms = 16 ms maximum).
Reduce MD 10060 divisor to ≤ 5. Typical safe values are 1–4 for standard machining. Enter new value and save via NCK parameter backup or Manage > Save Parameters.
Lowering divisor increases NCK CPU load; monitor CPU utilization on the SINUMERIK control panel after change.
Power cycle the 840D control or execute SRAM reset via Commissioning > System > Reset NCK to reload MD 10060. Verify alarm clears and position control loop synchronizes with 611D drives.
