Siemens 26050 - Axis parameter set change from to not possible

Axis parameter set change from to not possible

The parameter block change cannot be performed without jumps. This is due to the content of the parameter block to be switched on, e.g. different load gear factors Control reaction: The NC switches to follow-up mode. Local alarm reaction. NC Start disable in this channel. Interface signals are set. Alarm display. NC Stop on alarm.

Root Cause Summary

Alarm 26050 occurs when attempting to switch between parameter blocks (via MD20070 or MD20071) while the axis contains incompatible kinematic or load data that would cause discontinuous motion. The NCK cannot perform a smooth parameter set transition due to mismatched MD10210 (load gear factor) or similar axis-dependent parameters between the source and target parameter blocks.

Safety

  • Drive/power/encoder circuit: hazardous voltages may remain in the DC link after power-off. Lock out / tag out, wait for discharge per the drive documentation, and use qualified personnel only.
  • Spindle hazard: ensure the spindle is at standstill before working near it; follow lockout/tagout procedures.

Causes and Fixes

  1. 1

Access SINUMERIK Operate → Diagnostics → Alarms → 26050. Note the axis designation (%1) and the parameter block numbers (%2 source, %3 target).

  2. 2

In NCK → Machine Data → Axis Parameters, navigate to MD10210 for the source parameter block. Record the load gear factor value.

  3. 3

Switch to the target parameter block context and verify MD10210 value matches the source. If different, align both blocks to the same value or use axis positioning (G0 to safe position) before block switching.

Do not force parameter block switching; mismatched gear factors will cause axis jumps when motion resumes.

  4. 4

If values must remain different, structure NC program to include explicit axis stop and repositioning between parameter block changes using G0 commands after block activation.
