Okuma OSP Alarm B 2782 - Axis lube pressure OFF confirmation

Axis lube pressure OFF confirmation

The lube pressure switch was still on when the axis lubrication motor was switched on, or it failed to turn off within the allowed time (twice the motor ON time) after the motor stopped. Pressure is not decaying in the X/Z axis (or cross rail, index WCR) lube circuit as it should, indicating a stuck switch or blocked line holding residual pressure.

Common Causes

  • Defective pressure switch stuck in the ON state
  • Clogged lubrication piping trapping pressure downstream of the pump
  • Blocked metering units or restrictors preventing pressure bleed-down

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Note the index: no index means the X/Z-axis lube circuit; 'WCR' means the cross rail circuit, and check that circuit.
  2. 2With the pump off, observe whether the pressure switch releases; if it stays on with no pressure, the switch is faulty and should be replaced.
  3. 3Inspect the lube piping and metering units on the affected axis for clogging that would hold residual pressure after the pump stops.
  4. 4Clean or replace any blocked piping sections or restrictors, then cycle the pump and confirm the switch turns off within the allowed time.
  5. 5If the alarm persists after these checks, record the alarm number and index and contact Okuma service.
