Okuma OSP Alarm B 2702 - Spindle command during C-axis connection

Spindle command during C-axis connection

A spindle rotation command was designated while the C-axis was connected. With the C-axis engaged, the spindle is under servo control for positioning, so ordinary speed commands (M03-M05, M40-M44) are illegal.

Common Causes

  • Program error: spindle speed command issued while C-axis connected
  • Program error: M03-M05 or M40-M44 issued during C-axis connection

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Read the code number shown with the alarm: code none = Spindle speed command designated while C-axis connected; code XX (hex) = Hexadecimal number of the designated M code issued during C-axis connection
  2. 2Read the code: no code means a spindle speed command was designated while the C-axis is connected; otherwise the code is the hexadecimal number of the designated M code.
  3. 3Find the block in the program where the spindle rotation command appears while C-axis connection is active.
  4. 4Remove or reorder the program so M03, M04, M05, and M40 through M44 are only issued after the C-axis is disconnected, as the manual directs.
  5. 5If spindle rotation is needed, disconnect the C-axis first, then issue the spindle rotation command.
  6. 6Dry-run the corrected section in single block to confirm the alarm no longer occurs.
