Okuma OSP Alarm A 1526 - Turret index error position

Turret index error position

A manual gauging cycle was started while the turret was sitting at a position where indexing is not allowed, or the turret moved into an index-error position during axis movement. The control blocks the cycle because indexing at the current X/Z position could crash the turret.

Common Causes

  • Manual gauging cycle commanded with the turret too close to the workpiece/chuck (not at a safe index position)
  • Axis movement carried the turret into a position where indexing is prohibited

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Do not attempt to index or run the gauging cycle at the current position.
  2. 2In MANUAL operation mode, jog the turret toward the X-axis or Z-axis plus variable limit position to move it clear of the workpiece and chuck.
  3. 3Once the turret is at the safe position, execute the turret index command.
  4. 4Re-run the manual gauging cycle only after the turret has indexed cleanly at the safe position.
