Okuma OSP Alarm A 1306 - Sensor touch G00

Sensor touch G00

While a G30 work gauging cycle was running, the touch sensor hit the workpiece during a G00 rapid positioning move rather than during the measuring feed. On this cycle the sensor should travel in rapid only through free space, so the programmed positions put the part surface in the rapid path.

Common Causes

  • Program error: gauging target point programmed inside the actual workpiece surface
  • Workpiece position different from what the program assumes
  • Wrong approach point or start point for the work gauging cycle

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Verify the gauging cycle target point first, as the manual directs: compare where the program thinks the workpiece surface is against where the part actually sits, since the alarm means the rapid path and the real workpiece position do not coincide.
  2. 2Measure the actual workpiece position and compare it with the position the G30 cycle expects; a misplaced or oversized workpiece puts the surface in the G00 path.
  3. 3Correct the program's target point or approach point so the sensor travels in G00 only through free space and first contacts the workpiece surface during the measuring feed.
  4. 4Re-run the G30 work gauging cycle in single block with reduced rapid override to confirm the sensor reaches the approach point without touching.
