Okuma OSP Alarm A 1192 - MCS Motor overload

MCS Motor overload

The motor load on the indicated axis or spindle exceeded the preset limit and the overload protection function tripped. The code shows the protection curve gamma value and the internally calculated overload data.

Common Causes

  • Mechanical overload from cutting conditions or machine operation
  • Motor fault
  • Incorrect or corrupted servo data file

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Note the axis/spindle in the Object field and record the code (gamma of the protection curve plus the calculated overload value) for service reference.
  2. 2Check for mechanical binding on the named axis: way lubrication, chips packed around the ball screw/slide, or a crashed tool.
  3. 3Reduce cutting load (depth of cut, feed) and rerun; if the alarm clears, the overload was caused by machining conditions.
  4. 4If the alarm occurs with no load, suspect the motor itself or a wrong servo data file loaded for this axis.
  5. 5If the cause cannot be found at the machine, record the alarm number, code and object and contact Okuma service.
