KRC0598

KUKA Robot KRC0598 - All pulse outputs assigned

All pulse outputs assigned

The KUKA KRC controller has a maximum limit of 16 pulse outputs available for simultaneous operation. This alarm is triggered when the user attempts to enable more than 16 impulse (pulse) outputs concurrently, exceeding the controller's hardware capacity. This typically occurs in complex motion programs that require excessive synchronized pulse signal outputs to external devices.

Common Causes

  • Multiple axes or devices configured with pulse output signals that are activated simultaneously in the motion program
  • Incorrect parameterization of axis outputs or external device interfaces assigning pulse outputs redundantly
  • Program logic error where conditional statements fail to properly deactivate pulse outputs before enabling additional ones
  • Misconfigured or unintended pulse output assignments in the KRL program or system configuration files
  • Attempt to control more external pulse-based devices than the controller hardware supports at one time

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Review the active KRL program and identify all DO (digital output) and pulse output commands currently enabled
  2. 2Check the system configuration in the Controller → IO → Digital Outputs section to verify actual pulse output assignments
  3. 3Restructure the program logic to ensure pulse outputs are deactivated before new ones are activated, reducing concurrent usage
  4. 4Consolidate pulse output requirements by combining signals or using external I/O expansion modules if available
  5. 5Verify the hardware configuration against the KUKA system documentation to confirm the maximum pulse output capacity
  6. 6Test the modified program in simulation mode before resuming operation to confirm the alarm no longer occurs
