KRC0596

KUKA Robot KRC0596 - No more dynamic analog inputs available

No more dynamic analog inputs available

This alarm indicates that the KUKA KRC controller has reached its maximum limit for simultaneously active dynamic analog inputs. The controller can only manage a limited number of dynamic analog inputs at once, and attempting to activate a third dynamic analog input exceeds this hardware or software limitation. This typically occurs when program logic tries to enable additional analog input channels beyond the supported concurrent limit.

Common Causes

  • Program attempts to activate three or more dynamic analog inputs simultaneously without deactivating previous ones
  • Incorrect configuration of analog input monitoring in the robot program or teach pendant interface
  • Multiple program tasks or subroutines attempting to activate dynamic analog inputs concurrently without proper synchronization
  • Unintended activation of analog inputs due to missing or incomplete input deactivation commands in program logic
  • Hardware limitation where the KRC controller version does not support the required number of simultaneous dynamic analog inputs

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Review the active robot program and identify all locations where dynamic analog inputs are being activated using commands such as ANIN_SETMASK or similar input activation functions
  2. 2Verify that analog input deactivation commands are properly placed to disable inputs before new ones are activated, ensuring no more than two dynamic inputs are active simultaneously
  3. 3Check the controller configuration and documentation to confirm the maximum number of supported simultaneous dynamic analog inputs for your specific KRC controller model
  4. 4Restructure the program logic to use sequential activation of analog inputs rather than concurrent activation, with proper enable/disable timing between input switches
  5. 5Verify that no background tasks or parallel program processes are independently activating dynamic analog inputs without the main program's awareness
  6. 6Clear the alarm, modify the program accordingly, and perform a test run with monitoring tools to confirm that dynamic analog input activation remains within controller limits
