KUKA Robot KRC0540 - No runtime data access

No runtime data access

An attempt has been made to access an invalid or nonexistent object value in memory or runtime data area through the hierarchy table search path in WorkVisual or the KRC4 system. This prevents access to the requested runtime parameter or variable because the specified path does not resolve to a valid memory location. The object reference must be corrected or the data structure must be properly defined in the KRL program.

Common Causes

  • Incorrect variable name or typo in the hierarchy path search reference string
  • Attempting to access a variable that has not been declared in the active KRL program scope
  • Data structure element removed or renamed in the program without updating the access path
  • Accessing an array index that exceeds the declared array bounds in the runtime data area
  • Runtime data object belongs to a different program instance or work memory context that is not currently loaded

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Verify the exact spelling and case sensitivity of the variable name against the KRL source code declaration
  2. 2Open the KRL program file in WorkVisual and confirm the variable is properly declared with the correct data type
  3. 3Check that the hierarchy path syntax matches the expected format for accessing nested data structures and array elements
  4. 4Review the current work memory contents in the KRC4 debugger to verify the object exists in the active runtime context
  5. 5If the variable belongs to a different program, load or activate that program instance to make the data accessible
  6. 6Regenerate the program and transfer it to the KRC4 control system to update the runtime symbol table and hierarchy references
