KRC0440

KUKA Robot KRC0440 - ACTIVE ALLOWED IN <mode> ONLY

ACTIVE ALLOWED IN <mode> ONLY

This alarm indicates that an operation or function is being executed in an incorrect controller mode. For Remote Control Panel (RCP) and stationary KCP (teach pendant), the controller must be in AUT (Automatic) mode to perform the requested action. The system has detected an attempt to execute an operation that requires AUT mode while the controller is in a different mode such as MAN (Manual) or TEST.

Common Causes

  • Attempting to start program execution or activate motion commands while controller is in MAN (Manual) mode instead of AUT (Automatic) mode
  • RCP or stationary KCP operation initiated without switching the mode selector to AUT position
  • Teaching pendant mode selector switch is positioned on MAN instead of AUT
  • Trying to execute a program or robot motion from a remote interface while the controller mode is not set to automatic operation
  • Mode change command was not completed before attempting the restricted operation

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Verify the current controller mode on the teach pendant or control interface display
  2. 2Locate the mode selector switch on the teach pendant or control panel and switch it from MAN to AUT position
  3. 3Ensure the mode switch transition is complete and the controller has registered the mode change before retry
  4. 4Confirm that the operation being attempted actually requires AUT mode per the KUKA programming manual
  5. 5Check for any interlocks or safety conditions that may be preventing the mode change to AUT
  6. 6If using RCP or stationary KCP, verify the hardware mode selector is functioning correctly and making solid electrical contact
