KUKA Robot KRC0447 - ACTIVE COMMANDS INHIBITED

ACTIVE COMMANDS INHIBITED

This alarm indicates that an inhibit message or command has been activated on the KUKA KRC controller, preventing the robot from executing active motion commands. The robot remains in a safe state but will not respond to movement instructions until the inhibit condition is cleared. This is a safety mechanism designed to prevent unintended robot motion during maintenance, diagnostics, or emergency situations.

Common Causes

  • Emergency stop (E-stop) button pressed or E-stop circuit activated
  • Safety gate or protective fence door is open or interlock triggered
  • Enabling device (deadman switch) not continuously held or released
  • External safety PLC or interlock system has sent an inhibit signal
  • Manual inhibit command issued through teach pendant or control interface

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Verify that the emergency stop button is in the normal (not pressed) position and reset if necessary by turning clockwise
  2. 2Check that all safety gates, protective fences, and access doors are properly closed and interlocks are engaged
  3. 3Confirm the enabling device on the teach pendant is functioning correctly and being held continuously during operation
  4. 4Review the KUKA KRC diagnostic messages and safety system status in the controller's system information menu
  5. 5Check all external safety PLC inputs and hardwired inhibit signals connected to the KRC controller for faults or open circuits
  6. 6Clear the alarm by pressing the acknowledge button on the teach pendant, then verify safe conditions before resuming robot operation
