KRC0438

KUKA Robot KRC0438 - ACTIVE STATUS REQUIRED

ACTIVE STATUS REQUIRED

The requested command cannot be executed because it requires an active operator control unit in one of the authorized operational modes. The issuing control device must be in T1 (teach mode low speed), T2 (teach mode high speed), or AUT (automatic mode) to authorize this command type.

Common Causes

  • KUKA smartPAD is in manual jog mode or offline mode instead of T1, T2, or AUT
  • Stationary KCP or RCP is in standby or idle state without an active mode selected
  • External command was issued via socket communication or OPC-UA without proper EXT mode activation on the controller
  • Operator control unit connection was lost or became inactive during program execution
  • Safety system placed the controller in a restricted state that disallows the command from any non-active unit

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Check the KUKA smartPAD or KCP display to confirm the current operational mode and verify it matches one of the required modes
  2. 2Activate the control unit by pressing the enable button or mode selector to place it into T1, T2, or AUT mode
  3. 3Verify the safety key is inserted and the enabling switch (deadman grip on smartPAD) is being held during command execution
  4. 4Confirm the control unit is the active command source by checking the device selection indicator on the controller status panel
  5. 5Review the KRL program structure to ensure the command is placed in a section that executes only when an active control unit is available
  6. 6If using remote execution, verify the host computer interface is properly configured in EXT mode and has maintained connection to the KRC4 controller
