KUKA Robot KRC0356 - ACKN. CABINET INTERIOR TEMPERATURE SENSOR FAILURE <axis number>

ACKN. CABINET INTERIOR TEMPERATURE SENSOR FAILURE <axis number>

This alarm indicates a failure in the cabinet interior temperature sensor monitoring system for the specified axis. The sensor is responsible for detecting overheating conditions within the control cabinet to prevent thermal damage to electronic components and the axis drive electronics. When the sensor fails or becomes disconnected, the controller cannot reliably monitor cabinet temperature and triggers this acknowledgment alarm as a safety precaution.

Common Causes

  • Loose or corroded sensor connector at the cabinet temperature sensor interface
  • Damaged or broken temperature sensor element in the cabinet interior
  • Faulty wiring or broken cable between the sensor and the control board
  • Failed analog input module or temperature monitoring circuit on the main control board
  • Sensor connector pin corrosion or moisture contamination in the connection

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Acknowledge the alarm and document the affected axis number from the alarm message
  2. 2Power down the robot controller and allow it to cool for 15 minutes before proceeding
  3. 3Locate the cabinet interior temperature sensor for the specified axis and visually inspect the connector for loose connections, corrosion, or debris
  4. 4Disconnect and reconnect the temperature sensor connector firmly, ensuring proper seating and checking for bent or damaged pins
  5. 5Use a multimeter to verify sensor resistance values according to KUKA specifications (typically 10-50 kΩ at room temperature for NTC thermistors)
  6. 6If resistance is out of specification or connector repair fails, replace the temperature sensor and verify alarm clears after controller restart
