KRC0349

KUKA Robot KRC0349 - ACKN. E<2 or 7 keyswitch> SWITCH OPEN

ACKN. E<2 or 7 keyswitch> SWITCH OPEN

This alarm indicates that the acknowledge (ACKN) enable switch, located on either keyswitch position 2 or 7 of the teach pendant or control panel, is in the open position and preventing robot motion authorization. The KRC controller requires this switch to be in the closed/enabled state to allow execution of robot movements and program operations. This is a safety interlock that ensures intentional operator control before any automated or manual motion is permitted.

Common Causes

  • Teach pendant keyswitch not fully inserted or rotated to enabled position
  • Keyswitch contact pins worn, corroded, or making poor electrical connection
  • Broken or damaged keyswitch mechanism on control panel or teach pendant
  • Wiring harness disconnected or loose between keyswitch and KRC controller input module
  • Defective input card or digital input channel on the KRC controller detecting keyswitch signal

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Verify the teach pendant keyswitch is fully inserted and rotated to the closed/enabled position (typically the '3' position for enable mode)
  2. 2Inspect the keyswitch contact points and pins for dirt, corrosion, or damage; clean with electrical contact cleaner if necessary
  3. 3Check the wiring harness connections at both the keyswitch terminal block and the KRC controller input card module for loose or disconnected connectors
  4. 4Test keyswitch continuity with a multimeter in open and closed positions to confirm mechanical operation
  5. 5Access the KRC System > Diagnosis menu to monitor the digital input state of the keyswitch signal and verify it changes when toggling the switch
  6. 6If wiring and keyswitch are confirmed functional, replace the defective keyswitch assembly or have the KRC input card diagnosed and replaced by authorized KUKA service
