KUKA Robot KRC0332 - ACKN. GENERAL MOTION ENABLE

ACKN. GENERAL MOTION ENABLE

This alarm indicates that the $MOVE_ENABLE input signal to the KUKA KRC controller has dropped to a low state, preventing the robot from executing motion commands. The $MOVE_ENABLE is a critical safety and operational input that must remain high during all programmed robot movements. When this signal is low, the controller acknowledges the condition and halts all motion execution as a safety interlock.

Common Causes

  • Broken or disconnected wiring at the $MOVE_ENABLE input terminal on the KRC controller
  • Faulty Enable switch or pushbutton on the operator pendant or control cabinet
  • Defective safety relay or interlock circuit that monitors the enable signal
  • Loose connector pins or corrosion at the input signal interface
  • PLC or external control system not providing proper enable signal logic level

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Verify the physical wiring connection to the $MOVE_ENABLE input on the KRC controller terminal strip and confirm proper pin assignment
  2. 2Check the enable switch or pushbutton on the pendant for mechanical damage and test continuity with a multimeter
  3. 3Measure the actual voltage level at the $MOVE_ENABLE input using a voltmeter to confirm it meets the controller's logic level requirements
  4. 4Inspect all connectors and terminal blocks for loose pins, corrosion, or cold solder joints and reseat connections firmly
  5. 5Review the input signal routing logic in the PLC or external control system to ensure the enable command is being transmitted correctly
  6. 6If using an external enable source, verify the safety relay outputs and interlock circuits are functioning by testing with a bypass jumper at the terminal block
