KUKA Robot KRC0293 - INVALID AXIS COUPLING RATIO <axis number>

INVALID AXIS COUPLING RATIO <axis number>

An axis coupling ratio mismatch has been detected during extended sensor adjustment. The coupled axes are not positioned at the same location that was recorded during the initial data transfer, preventing proper calibration.

Common Causes

  • Coupled axes were moved manually or via program between data transfer and extended sensor adjustment procedure
  • Mechanical coupling between axes has slipped or lost synchronization due to wear
  • Robot was powered down and axes drifted from their recorded positions before adjustment completion
  • Encoder feedback from coupled axes is not matching expected position values in the system database
  • Previous data transfer was performed with axes in incorrect initial positions

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Verify both coupled axes are positioned exactly as they were during the original data transfer by checking the KRC4 position display on the smartPAD
  2. 2Manually move the coupled axes to their home or reference position and confirm synchronization using the axis position indicator
  3. 3Access WorkVisual to review the stored coupling ratio data and compare with current encoder readings
  4. 4Perform a new complete data transfer procedure with both coupled axes confirmed in identical positions
  5. 5Check mechanical couplings, gearboxes, and transmission components for signs of slippage or damage affecting axis synchronization
  6. 6If synchronization cannot be achieved, perform a full robot calibration and repeat the extended sensor adjustment from the beginning
