KRC0263

KUKA Robot KRC0263 - CYCLIC DATA NOT RELEASED BY TEPRO

CYCLIC DATA NOT RELEASED BY TEPRO

This alarm indicates that the TEPRO (Teaching Pendant Processor) task has not released the cyclic data semaphore, preventing other processes from accessing acyclic data structures. The semaphore lock is being held by TEPRO, blocking normal data communication and synchronization between controller tasks.

Common Causes

  • TEPRO task crashed or hung without properly releasing the semaphore
  • Excessive or blocking operations in TEPRO preventing timely semaphore release
  • Corrupted or incomplete teach pendant communication causing task synchronization failure
  • Software bug or timing issue in the KUKA system software causing semaphore to remain locked
  • Hardware malfunction in teach pendant or communication interface between KRC and TEPRO

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Perform a soft reset of the KRC controller by switching to T1 mode and powering down/up the robot system
  2. 2Disconnect and reconnect the teach pendant (KCP) to reinitialize TEPRO communication
  3. 3Check the KUKA system logs for TEPRO task errors or abnormal terminations preceding this alarm
  4. 4Verify teach pendant firmware is up-to-date and matches the KRC controller software version
  5. 5If alarm persists, perform a complete controller power cycle and check for corrupted system files
  6. 6Contact KUKA service if the alarm recurs after reset, as it may indicate a deeper system software or hardware issue requiring firmware update or component replacement
