KUKA Robot KRC0160 - STOP WHILE MEASUREMENT ACTIVE MOVEMENT WILL BE HANDLED AS TEST

STOP WHILE MEASUREMENT ACTIVE MOVEMENT WILL BE HANDLED AS TEST

This alarm is triggered when the robot is stopped while an active measurement cycle is in progress, typically during force/torque sensing or calibration procedures. The controller logs this occurrence and handles subsequent movements as test movements rather than production movements until the measurement session is properly terminated. This is a safety and data integrity mechanism to prevent corrupted measurement data from being used in production operations.

Common Causes

  • Operator pressed emergency stop or program stop during an active measurement routine
  • Network communication loss or controller interruption during measurement data acquisition
  • Manual intervention or teach pendant stop command issued while measurement sensors are active
  • Measurement timeout or sensor calibration routine interrupted unexpectedly
  • Incorrect program logic that does not properly close measurement cycles before motion commands

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Review the program execution log to identify the exact point where the stop occurred relative to the measurement routine
  2. 2Verify that all measurement initialization and termination commands are properly sequenced in the KRC program
  3. 3Check sensor connections and calibration status of force/torque transducers or measurement devices
  4. 4Clear the measurement session by executing the appropriate measurement end/close command in the controller
  5. 5Perform a test cycle without measurement active to confirm normal robot operation has been restored
  6. 6Re-run the complete measurement routine from initialization, ensuring the stop command does not occur until after measurement data is properly saved and the measurement cycle is closed
