KUKA Robot KRC0086 - EMERGENCY STOP FROM KRC ( ALARM STOP )

EMERGENCY STOP FROM KRC ( ALARM STOP )

An emergency stop condition has been triggered by the KRC4 system software due to detection of a serious or critical error in the robot control software, motion safety parameters, or hardware state. The robot will immediately halt all motion and require manual intervention to clear the fault condition.

Common Causes

  • Critical error detected in KRL program execution, such as invalid axis positions, singularity condition, or motion limit violations
  • Serious hardware fault detected by the KRC4 system including servo drive failure, encoder error, or communication loss with robot axes
  • Safety software violation detected in the KRC4 such as unauthorized axis movement, workspace boundary breach, or SafeOperation parameter failure
  • Configuration error or inconsistency between the actual robot hardware and the KRC4 system parameters causing motion integrity failure
  • Software watchdog timer expiration or real-time kernel error in the KRC4 control system requiring immediate system halt for safe recovery

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Note the specific alarm message and error code details displayed on the KUKA smartPAD, as the underlying fault information is essential for diagnosis
  2. 2Power cycle the KRC4 controller using the main system power switch and wait for the system to fully reboot and initialize all hardware
  3. 3Verify that all robot axes are physically able to move freely and are not mechanically blocked or in collision condition
  4. 4Connect a programming device running WorkVisual to the KRC4 system and review the diagnostic logs and event history for detailed fault information
  5. 5Check the KRC4 system parameters and compare against the robot specification documentation to identify any configuration discrepancies or corrupted settings
  6. 6If the alarm persists after power cycle and parameter verification, contact KUKA technical support and prepare system logs, hardware configuration details, and the recent KRL program source code for analysis
