KUKA Robot KRC0085 - DRIVES ERROR ... NO.: ...

DRIVES ERROR ... NO.: ...

This alarm indicates a conflicting input command was detected on the teach pendant or external control interface, where a Start command or directional axis movement key was pressed simultaneously while the Stop key remained active. This safety interlock prevents unintended robot motion by rejecting contradictory operator inputs that could result in unpredictable movement behavior.

Common Causes

  • Operator pressing Start or direction key while Stop key is held down on teach pendant
  • Stuck or debouncing Stop button on teach pendant not fully releasing
  • External safety circuit providing conflicting stop and start signals simultaneously
  • Defective teach pendant keypad with overlapping electrical contacts causing phantom key presses
  • Wiring fault in the control input circuit causing simultaneous signal detection

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Release all buttons on the teach pendant immediately and wait 2-3 seconds before attempting any new commands
  2. 2Inspect the physical Stop button on the teach pendant for mechanical sticking, debris, or wear and clean if necessary
  3. 3Test the teach pendant buttons individually to verify proper electrical release and contact separation
  4. 4Check external safety circuit connections and PLC inputs to ensure Stop and Start signals are not simultaneously active
  5. 5Review the controller's input signal status in the diagnostic menu to identify which signals are remaining active when the alarm occurs
  6. 6If the issue persists, replace the teach pendant and re-test; if alarm clears, the original pendant requires service or replacement
