KRC0088

KUKA Robot KRC0088 - CABINET TEMPERATURE TOO HIGH **

CABINET TEMPERATURE TOO HIGH **

This alarm indicates that the internal temperature of the KUKA KRC control cabinet has exceeded the maximum permissible operating threshold, typically 60°C. The controller monitors cabinet temperature via internal sensors and triggers this safety alarm to prevent thermal damage to sensitive electronics, servo drives, and power supply components. System operation is halted until temperature returns to acceptable levels.

Common Causes

  • Blocked or clogged cabinet air intake/exhaust filters reducing cooling airflow
  • Ambient room temperature exceeding specifications or inadequate facility cooling
  • Malfunctioning cabinet cooling fan or fan bearing failure
  • Prolonged high-duty cycle operation without sufficient rest periods for thermal dissipation
  • Obstructed ventilation vents or cabinet placement in direct sunlight or near heat sources

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Immediately stop robot operation and allow the KRC cabinet to cool naturally; do not force restart until temperature drops below 50°C threshold
  2. 2Inspect and clean all cabinet air filters, intake vents, and exhaust ports for dust accumulation or blockages using compressed air
  3. 3Verify that the cabinet cooling fan is operating correctly by listening for fan noise and checking for proper rotation; replace fan if damaged or non-functional
  4. 4Check facility ambient temperature and ensure it is within 5°C to 45°C specification; improve room ventilation or relocate cabinet if necessary
  5. 5Review robot duty cycle and program parameters to identify any continuous high-load operations; implement rest periods or cycle optimization to reduce thermal load
  6. 6Monitor cabinet temperature recovery using KRC diagnostics menu; if temperature does not decrease or alarm recurs, contact KUKA service for potential internal component failure
