KUKA Robot KRC0092 - POWER MODULE AXIS ** NOT OR WRONGLY PLUGGED

POWER MODULE AXIS ** NOT OR WRONGLY PLUGGED

This alarm indicates a communication or power connection failure between a specific robot axis and its corresponding power module on the KUKA KRC controller. The axis connector may be loose, improperly seated, damaged, or completely disconnected from the power module interface, preventing proper power delivery and signal transmission to the axis motor and servo drive.

Common Causes

  • Axis connector not fully inserted or seated into the power module socket
  • Damaged or bent connector pins on the axis cable or power module interface
  • Loose or corroded electrical contacts due to vibration or environmental exposure
  • Defective axis power cable or internal wiring break between connector and motor
  • Power module slot/receptacle failure or misaligned connector orientation

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Verify which specific axis is affected by checking the alarm message details on the teach pendant display
  2. 2Power down the robot controller completely and wait 30 seconds before proceeding
  3. 3Locate the affected axis connector on the power module and visually inspect for physical damage, corrosion, or debris
  4. 4Disconnect and firmly reconnect the axis power connector, ensuring it clicks fully into place with proper orientation
  5. 5Examine the connector pins and socket for bent, broken, or corroded contacts; clean contacts with isopropyl alcohol if necessary
  6. 6If the issue persists after reconnection, test with a known good axis cable or power module slot to isolate whether the problem is with the cable, connector, or power module hardware
