HEIDENHAIN 1A1-0042 - Kinematics configuration faulty

Kinematics configuration faulty

The kinematics configuration contains an invalid key or list element, causing the configuration server to skip entries. As a result, some output fields in the view message are marked invalid.

Root Cause Summary

This alarm occurs when the TNC detects mathematical inconsistencies or missing data in the kinematic transformation parameters that would prevent accurate coordinate system calculations. The control performs validation checks on the kinematic configuration at startup and when parameters are modified, rejecting configurations that would result in undefined or impossible axis positions.

Safety

  • Refer to Heidenhain service manual
  • Ensure qualified technician performs repairs

Causes and Fixes

  1. 1

    Access machine parameters

Press MOD key, enter password, select 'Machine Parameters' from the menu. Navigate to General/Geometry section.

Parameter modifications require machine shutdown and restart. Incorrect changes can cause machine malfunction.

  2. 2

    Check MP7500 CfgKinType

Locate MP7500 and verify the value matches your machine: 0=Standard 3-axis, 1=Tilting rotary table (B-axis on table), 2=Swivel head (B/C on spindle), 3=Table and head combination. Consult machine documentation for correct setting.

The kinematic type must be set before any other kinematic parameters are configured. Changing this value typically requires reconfiguring all MPs in the 7500+ range.

  3. 3

    Restart control and verify

After correcting MP7500, perform complete control restart (power cycle). Monitor for alarm clearance during startup initialization.

Do not attempt to run NC programs until alarm clears completely and kinematic check passes.

DIY Feasiblehigh confidence

Call a technician if:

  • ·Hardware communication errors persist after cable checks
  • ·Kinematic calibration required
  • ·Software update needed

Prevention

  • Regular backup of machine parameters and kinematic files
  • Avoid manual editing of .kin files
  • Verify parameter compatibility before software updates

Common Mistakes

  • Editing kinematic parameters without understanding machine geometry
  • Restoring parameters from different machine model
  • Ignoring parameter validation warnings
