Fanuc Alarm PS005 - Missing Data
PS005 alarm occurs when the CNC control detects an address code (G, X, Y, Z, M, S, T, F, etc.) in a program block that is not followed by the required numerical data value before the next address or End-Of-Block (EOB/semicolon) character. This is a program syntax error typically caused by incomplete programming, accidental deletion of numerical values, or improper data entry during manual program editing at the MDI panel or during DNC/external program transfer.

Causes and Fixes
Press RESET to clear alarm. Note the alarmed program name and sequence number displayed on CNC screen (O-number and N-number if present).
Navigate to EDIT mode, press PRGRM key, search for the program (address O then program number, press EXEC). Use cursor or search function to locate the exact block where PS005 occurred.
Examine the block for addresses missing numerical data. Common examples: 'G' without code number, 'X' or 'Z' without coordinate value, 'M' without function number, 'S' without spindle speed, 'T' without tool number, 'F' without feedrate value.
Correct the program block by adding the missing numerical value after the address or deleting the incomplete address. Verify EOB (semicolon) placement. Re-run program in single block mode (SINGLE BLOCK button ON) to confirm correction.
If program is write-protected, set parameter 3202#0 (WRITE PROTECT) = 0 or use KEY switch position to enable editing. Restore protection after editing.
