Fanuc Alarm PS0016 - Sequence Number Error
PS0016 alarm occurs when a sequence number (N word) in the CNC program exceeds the maximum allowable value defined by parameter 3001 or 3002, or when an invalid N number format is detected. This is typically caused by programming errors, improper CAM post-processor output, or corrupted program data during transfer.

N-Digit Error
Fanuc PS0016: N-DIGIT ERROR. The sequence number (N-number) specified in the program block contains too many digits or exceeds the maximum allowed value.

Causes and Fixes
Press SYSTEM > PARAM and check parameter 3001 (maximum sequence number allowed). Note the current setting, typically 99999 for 5-digit or 999999999 for 9-digit systems.
Access the program causing the alarm via EDIT mode, press SEARCH > ADDRESS and enter 'N' to locate the offending sequence number. Check if any N word exceeds the parameter 3001 limit.
Edit the program to reduce the sequence number below the parameter 3001 limit, or increase parameter 3001 if operationally acceptable (requires parameter write enable bit 3 in parameter 0000 to be set to 1).
Changing parameter 3001 requires power cycle to take effect. Ensure parameter write protection is re-enabled after modification.
Reset the alarm using RESET button and verify program execution. If using DNC or external program input, check CAM post-processor sequence number output settings.
