Fanuc 573 - Spindle coolant flow error
Alarm 573 indicates the spindle coolant through-spindle (TSC) flow monitoring system has detected insufficient or no coolant flow when the system expected flow. This is typically caused by low coolant pressure, clogged passages, faulty flow switches, or wiring issues between the flow sensor and the spindle drive.
Fanuc 573 - Spindle coolant flow error
SPINDLE COOLANT FLOW ERROR
Fanuc spindle alarm 573: SPINDLE COOLANT FLOW ERROR. The spindle drive or spindle motor has detected a fault condition that requires diagnosis before spindle operation can resume.
Root Cause Summary
Alarm 573 indicates the spindle coolant through-spindle (TSC) flow monitoring system has detected insufficient or no coolant flow when the system expected flow. This is typically caused by low coolant pressure, clogged passages, faulty flow switches, or wiring issues between the flow sensor and the spindle drive.
Safety
Causes and Fixes
Check coolant tank level and refill if low. Verify coolant pump is running and pressure gauge shows normal operating pressure (typically 200-300 PSI for TSC systems).
Inspect coolant lines, rotary union, and filters for blockages or kinks. Clean or replace coolant filters if clogged.
Manually activate TSC function (M08 or M88 depending on machine) and verify coolant flows freely from spindle nose. Check for weak or intermittent flow.
Ensure no tool is in spindle and position spindle over coolant tray or suitable container.
Check rotary union seals for wear or damage causing pressure loss. Inspect drawbar area for coolant leaks that would reduce flow to the switch.
