Fanuc Alarm 219 - COMMAND G51.2/G50.2 INDEPENDENTLY

SYSTEM ALARM 219

Fanuc alarm 219: SYSTEM ALARM 219. This alarm indicates a fault condition detected by the Fanuc control. Refer to the alarm number and name to identify the specific system or function involved.

Root Cause Summary

Alarm 219 occurs when G51.2 (programmable coordinate system rotation ON) or G50.2 (programmable coordinate system rotation OFF) is programmed in the same NC block with other G-codes, axis movement commands, or auxiliary functions. These commands must be specified alone in their own block to properly establish or cancel the coordinate rotation transformation.

Causes and Fixes

  1. 1

Review the NC program at the alarm occurrence line. Identify the block containing G51.2 or G50.2 and check for any other commands in the same block (G-codes, M-codes, axis addresses, F, S, T commands).

  2. 2

Separate G51.2 or G50.2 into its own independent block. Example: Change 'G51.2 X100. Y100. R45.0' to two blocks - 'G51.2' on one line, then 'X100. Y100. R45.0' on the next line.

  3. 3

Verify parameter 5400 bit 5 (ROT) is set to 1 to enable programmable coordinate rotation function. Access via SYSTEM > PARAM > search for parameter 5400.

  4. 4

Reset the alarm, return to program start or safe position, and re-execute the modified program to confirm proper coordinate rotation activation or cancellation.

DIY Feasiblehigh confidence

Call a technician if:

  • ·Parameter P1740 coordinate rotation settings need modification
  • ·Persistent alarms after program corrections
  • ·Complex 5-axis coordinate transformation issues

Prevention

  • Always program G51.2/G50.2 in independent blocks
  • Establish coordinate rotations before machining operations
  • Use proper program structure: setup, rotation, machining, rotation cancel
  • Verify parameter P1740 coordinate rotation settings match machine configuration

Common Mistakes

  • Combining coordinate rotation with motion commands in same block
  • Programming G51.2 after tool path commands
  • Forgetting to cancel rotation with G50.2
  • Mixing coordinate rotation with work coordinate system changes
