Siemens 840D 6030 - Limit of user memory has been adapted
Alarm 6030 fires when the NCK detects a mismatch between physically available user memory (DRAM, DPRAM, SRAM) and the configured values in machine data parameters MD 18210, MD 18220, and MD 18230. This typically occurs after memory upgrades, downgrades, or corruption of system-specific machine data during startup initialization.

Limit of user memory has been adapted
Siemens SINUMERIK alarm 6030: Limit of user memory has been adapted. This alarm indicates a fault or error condition on the SINUMERIK 840D control. Refer to the Siemens SINUMERIK alarm documentation for the complete description and remedy.
Root Cause Summary
Alarm 6030 fires when the NCK detects a mismatch between physically available user memory (DRAM, DPRAM, SRAM) and the configured values in machine data parameters MD 18210, MD 18220, and MD 18230. This typically occurs after memory upgrades, downgrades, or corruption of system-specific machine data during startup initialization.
Safety
Causes and Fixes
Access Diagnostics menu via HMI and navigate to System Information > Memory Status to verify actual installed DRAM, DPRAM, and SRAM quantities.
In NCK Parameters menu, check current values of MD 18210, MD 18220, and MD 18230 against the physical memory detected.
If mismatch exists, allow the system to auto-adapt the MD values during startup or manually correct them via Machine Data editor and save using NEWCONF button.
Do not manually set these MDs to arbitrary values; use detected physical memory quantities only.
Perform a warm restart (cycle power OFF/ON) to reinitialize memory detection and clear the alarm.
