Siemens 840D 4035 - Interpolation cycle from NCU = does not match NCU =

Interpolation cycle from NCU = does not match NCU =

Occurs only with an NCU link system. The interpolation cycles of the NCUs specified in the alarm do not match one another. The slowest IPO cycle in interconnected NCU systems must be an integral multiple of all configured IPO cycles.

Safety

  • Refer to Siemens documentation
  • Ensure qualified technician performs repairs

Common Causes

  • Mismatched interpolation cycle times configured across linked NCUs in the system
  • IPO cycle of one NCU is not an integral multiple of another NCU's IPO cycle
  • Incorrect NCU parameter configuration during system setup or after maintenance
  • Network synchronization issue between NCUs causing cycle time discrepancy detection
  • Firmware version mismatch between interconnected NCUs affecting cycle timing

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Verify the configured IPO cycle times for all NCUs listed in the alarm message (%1 and %3). Document the exact values shown in parameters
  2. 2Confirm that the slowest IPO cycle is an integral multiple of all other configured cycles. Calculate: slowest_cycle / other_cycles should result in whole numbers
  3. 3Check NCU configuration files and parameter settings for all interconnected units to ensure consistency with system design specifications
  4. 4Perform a complete power cycle on all linked NCUs to reset synchronization, then restart the system and monitor for alarm recurrence
  5. 5If alarm persists, verify network communication between NCUs and compare software/firmware versions across all units; update if necessary
