Siemens 300768 - Axis drive numerator bandwidth > double blocking frequency

Axis drive numerator bandwidth > double blocking frequency

The bandwidth numerator of a current or speed setpoint filter is greater than twice the blocking frequency. This error message is only issued for the general bandstop filter if: - Speed setpoint filter 1: - MD 1516 > 0.0 or - MD 1520 <> 100.0 - Speed setpoint filter 2: - MD 1519 > 0.0 or - MD 1521 <> 100.0 - Current setpoint filter 1: - MD 1212 > 0.0 - Current setpoint filter 2: - MD 1215 > 0.0 - Current setpoint filter 3: - MD 1218 > 0.0 - Current setpoint filter 4: - MD 1221 > 0.0 The alarm can be reprogrammed in the MD ALARM_REACTION_CHAN_NOREADY (channel not ready) Control reaction: NC not ready. The NC switches to follow-up mode. Channel not ready. NC Start disable in this channel. Interface signals are set. Alarm display. NC Stop on alarm. Channel not ready.

Root Cause Summary

This alarm occurs when the bandwidth numerator of a setpoint filter exceeds twice the blocking frequency due to incorrect machine data settings. Fix by adjusting the relevant MD parameters.

Safety

  • Drive/power/encoder circuit: hazardous voltages may remain in the DC link after power-off. Lock out / tag out, wait for discharge per the drive documentation, and use qualified personnel only.

Causes and Fixes

  1. 1

SAFETY: Power down and lockout machine

Follow LOTO procedures before accessing machine data parameters. Ensure all axes are stopped and secured.

  2. 2

    Check Machine Data

Access the MD parameters (e.g., MD 1516, MD 1520) via the control panel or configuration software. Document current values before changes.

  3. 3

    Calculate correct values

Ensure the bandwidth numerator is less than twice the blocking frequency. Consult machine documentation for acceptable ranges.

  4. 4

    Adjust Values with backup

Create backup of current parameters before modification. Make incremental changes and verify each adjustment.

  5. 5

    Reset and Test safely

Save changes, perform controlled restart following manufacturer procedures. Test at reduced speeds initially.

Service Recommendedmedium confidence

Call a technician if:

  • ·If MD adjustments do not resolve the issue
  • ·If unsure about correct MD parameter values
  • ·If you lack experience with Siemens parameter modification
  • ·If machine behavior becomes unstable after changes

Prevention

  • Verify MD parameters before running programs
  • Use simulation to catch configuration issues early

Common Mistakes

  • Overlooking specific MD values mentioned in the alarm
  • Failing to save MD changes before testing
