Siemens 300007 - Axis drive not present or inactive

Axis drive not present or inactive

In the axis-specific machine data 30110 CTRLOUT_MODULE_NR (this specifies at which drive module the speed setpoint is output) and MD 30220 ENC_MODULE_NR (this specifies the drive module which outputs the encoder actual value for the position control) there is a drive logic number that does not occur in the NCK MD 13010 DRIVE_LOGIC_NR and the machine data 30240 ENC_TYPE and MD 30130 CTRLOUT_TYPE are set to "1" Control reaction: NC not ready. The NC switches to follow-up mode. Channel not ready. NC Start disable in this channel. Interface signals are set. Alarm display. NC Stop on alarm.

Root Cause Summary

This alarm occurs when the axis-specific machine data references a drive logic number that does not exist or is inactive. Correct the machine data settings for the affected axis to resolve it.

Safety

  • Drive/power/encoder circuit: hazardous voltages may remain in the DC link after power-off. Lock out / tag out, wait for discharge per the drive documentation, and use qualified personnel only.

Causes and Fixes

  1. 1

    Identify Affected Axis

Note the axis and drive number mentioned in the alarm message.

  2. 2

    Check Machine Data

Access MD 30110 and MD 30220 for the specified axis and verify the drive logic numbers.

  3. 3

    Correct Settings

Update the machine data to reference a valid drive module number and save changes.

  4. 4

    Reset and Test

Clear the alarm, reset the control, and test the axis operation.

DIY Feasiblehigh confidence

Call a technician if:

  • ·If machine data corrections do not resolve the alarm
  • ·If unsure about valid drive logic numbers or system configuration

Prevention

  • Always power down the system before making machine data changes
  • Validate machine data settings during setup or after changes
  • Document drive module configurations for reference
  • Perform backup of machine data before modifications

Common Mistakes

  • Entering incorrect drive logic numbers in machine data
  • Overlooking inactive drive modules in the system
