2161

Okuma OSP Alarm B 2161 - MCS Inverter capacity differs from spec.

MCS Inverter capacity differs from spec.

The allowable current of the installed inverter unit is smaller than the current limit written in the servo data file for the axis or spindle named in the object field. In other words, the drive hardware and the servo data do not match.

Common Causes

  • Inverter unit swapped with one of a different capacity
  • Servo data file loaded for the wrong inverter size
  • Wrong servo data file version after a software update

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Read the code number shown with the alarm: code 1 = Fixed code: inverter allowable current below servo data file current limit
  2. 2Note the axis or spindle named in the object field and identify the inverter unit that drives it.
  3. 3Read the capacity rating on the inverter unit's nameplate and compare it with the current limit specified in the servo data file for that axis.
  4. 4If the inverter was recently replaced, verify the replacement unit has the same capacity as the original; a smaller unit will raise this alarm.
  5. 5If the hardware is correct, reload or correct the servo data file so its current limit matches the installed inverter.
  6. 6Power cycle after correcting the data file and confirm the alarm clears and the axis runs normally.
