KRC0892

KUKA Robot KRC0892 - LEFT OPERAND NOT EQUAL TO INT, REAL 2228

LEFT OPERAND NOT EQUAL TO INT, REAL 2228

This alarm occurs during KRL program compilation or execution when the left operand of an operation is not compatible with INT or REAL data types as required by the operation at line 2228. The compiler/interpreter cannot perform the requested operation because of a data type mismatch on the left side of the expression.

Common Causes

  • Left operand is declared as BOOL, CHAR, or STRING type instead of INT or REAL
  • Attempting arithmetic or comparison operations on incompatible data types
  • Variable is not properly initialized before use in arithmetic expressions
  • Using an array or structured element where a scalar INT or REAL value is expected
  • Type casting or conversion is missing between operand types in the expression

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Review line 2228 of the KRL program and identify the operation causing the alarm
  2. 2Check the data type declaration of the left operand variable using the variable declaration section
  3. 3Verify that the left operand is declared as INT or REAL; if not, modify the declaration or use explicit type conversion
  4. 4Ensure the left operand is properly initialized with a compatible value before the operation
  5. 5If using complex data types or arrays, verify you are accessing scalar INT or REAL elements correctly
  6. 6Recompile the program after corrections and test the syntax in the KRC editor
