KRC0899

KUKA Robot KRC0899 - RIGHT OPERAND NOT EQUAL TO BOOL 2235

RIGHT OPERAND NOT EQUAL TO BOOL 2235

This alarm occurs during KRL program compilation or execution when the right operand in a comparison or logical operation is not of BOOL data type. The compiler/interpreter expects a boolean value but encountered a different data type in the expression at the specified location.

Common Causes

  • Right operand is INT, REAL, or CHAR instead of BOOL in a logical expression
  • Missing or incorrect type casting for boolean comparison
  • Using numeric or string value where boolean (TRUE/FALSE) is required
  • Incorrect variable declaration - BOOL variable assigned wrong data type
  • Function return type mismatch - function returns non-BOOL value in boolean context

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Locate the line number indicated in the alarm message within the KRL source file
  2. 2Identify the comparison or logical operation (IF, WHILE, AND, OR, NOT statements)
  3. 3Verify the right operand data type matches BOOL or convert it explicitly using bool() function
  4. 4Check variable declarations to ensure boolean variables are typed as BOOL, not INT or other types
  5. 5Review any function calls on the right side - ensure they return BOOL data type
  6. 6Correct the expression by either changing the operand type or implementing proper type conversion, then recompile the program
