KRC0894

KUKA Robot KRC0894 - BOTH OPERANDS NOT EQUAL TO INT, REAL 2230

BOTH OPERANDS NOT EQUAL TO INT, REAL 2230

This alarm occurs when a KRL program attempts a comparison or arithmetic operation between two operands where at least one operand is neither an INT nor a REAL data type. The operation cannot proceed because both operands must be numeric types for the comparison or calculation to be valid.

Common Causes

  • Attempting to compare or perform arithmetic with a BOOL, STRING, or CHAR operand
  • Using an incorrectly declared variable that is not INT or REAL in a mathematical expression
  • Mixing incompatible data types in conditional statements or arithmetic operations
  • Passing wrong parameter types to a function that expects numeric operands
  • Using uninitialized or improperly cast variables in numeric operations

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Review the KRL source code at the line indicated in the error message to identify the problematic operands
  2. 2Verify that all variables used in the comparison or arithmetic operation are declared as INT or REAL data types
  3. 3Check function or module parameters to ensure correct data types are being passed as arguments
  4. 4Add explicit type casting or conversion functions if operand type conversion is necessary
  5. 5Use the KUKA IDE debugger to inspect variable values and types at runtime to confirm data type mismatches
  6. 6Recompile the KRL program after corrections and test the modified code on the teach pendant or simulation
