KUKA Robot KRC0689 - IMPORTED VARIABLE TYPE/DIMENSION CONFLICT 2025

IMPORTED VARIABLE TYPE/DIMENSION CONFLICT 2025

This alarm occurs when an imported variable from an external KRL module or library has a data type or array dimension that conflicts with its declaration in the current program. The compiler detects a mismatch between how the variable is defined in the source module and how it is being used or imported in the calling program.

Common Causes

  • Array dimension mismatch - variable declared as REAL[10] in source but imported as REAL[5]
  • Data type mismatch - variable declared as INT in source but imported as REAL
  • Struct member type conflict - structure definition changed in source module but not updated in importing module
  • Multiple import statements with conflicting variable definitions from different libraries
  • Version incompatibility - importing from an older or newer version of a library with changed variable definitions

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Verify the variable declaration in the source KRL module matches the import statement in the current program
  2. 2Check array dimensions for all imported arrays and ensure they are consistent across all modules
  3. 3Review the data types of imported variables - confirm INT, REAL, BOOL, CHAR declarations match between source and destination
  4. 4If using structures or user-defined types, verify all struct member types and counts are identical in both modules
  5. 5Delete compiled files (.src.o, .dat files) and recompile all affected modules to clear stale definitions
  6. 6Update the include paths and library references to ensure the correct version of the source module is being imported
