KRC0610

KUKA Robot KRC0610 - Channel has to be opened/closed

Channel has to be opened/closed

The channel parameters specified in a KRL instruction do not match the current operational parameters of an already opened channel. The KRC4 controller detects a mismatch between requested and active channel configurations and prevents the operation to avoid communication errors.

Common Causes

  • KRL program attempts to reuse a channel with different configuration parameters than the original OPEN command
  • Channel was previously opened with a specific device address or protocol variant but later open call uses different parameters
  • Parameter variable in KRL code contains stale or incorrect values from a previous communication session
  • Multiple concurrent programs attempting to access the same channel with conflicting parameter specifications
  • Channel state remains partially open from a previous incomplete close operation leaving mismatched configuration active

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Examine all OPEN command invocations in the KRL program and verify they use identical channel parameter structures
  2. 2Check variable initialization to ensure channel parameter structures are populated with the same values throughout program execution
  3. 3Explicitly close and reopen the channel with consistent parameters rather than attempting parameter reassignment on active channels
  4. 4Review the channel status with WorkVisual diagnostics to confirm actual channel parameters match intended configuration
  5. 5Implement a channel management routine that validates parameter consistency before executing communication operations
  6. 6Isolate channel operations to a single KRL program instance to eliminate parameter conflicts from concurrent execution
