KUKA Robot KRC0607 - Channel parameters faulty or incomplete

Channel parameters faulty or incomplete

One or more channel parameters required for proper operation are faulty, missing, or uninitialized in the channel configuration variable stored in $CUSTOM.DAT. The KRC4 controller cannot validate the channel setup and refuses to proceed with communication operations until all parameters are correctly defined.

Common Causes

  • Channel parameter structure in $CUSTOM.DAT contains invalid data types or out-of-range numerical values
  • Required configuration fields were not populated during WorkVisual channel setup or manual $CUSTOM.DAT editing
  • Incorrect parameter syntax or formatting in $CUSTOM.DAT causing parser to reject channel definition
  • $CUSTOM.DAT file was corrupted during transfer or storage operation leaving initialization values incomplete
  • Version mismatch between KRC4 firmware and channel configuration template causing unrecognized parameter fields

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Open the $CUSTOM.DAT file in WorkVisual and verify all required fields contain valid numerical or alphanumeric values
  2. 2Cross-reference channel parameters against official KUKA documentation for the specific SINEC protocol variant being used
  3. 3Delete and recreate the problematic channel definition using the WorkVisual channel configuration wizard instead of manual editing
  4. 4Validate $CUSTOM.DAT file structure by performing a syntax check through KRC4 system startup diagnostics
  5. 5Compare the current $CUSTOM.DAT against a known working backup copy to identify missing or altered parameter entries
  6. 6Upload a corrected $CUSTOM.DAT file to the KRC4 controller and perform a warm restart to reload configuration parameters
