KUKA Robot KRC0580 - Sensor mastering inadmissible

Sensor mastering inadmissible

This alarm indicates that the sensor mastering (calibration) process has not been completed for the specified axis on the KUKA KRC controller. The axis cannot operate properly without establishing the reference position through a sensor location run, which synchronizes the encoder feedback with the controller's position tracking system.

Common Causes

  • Initial robot setup was not completed with sensor mastering procedure
  • Encoder or sensor was replaced without performing new mastering
  • Mastering data was corrupted or cleared from controller memory
  • Axis was manually moved or jogged before mastering was performed
  • Power cycle or emergency stop occurred before mastering sequence completed

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Verify which axis triggered the alarm from the alarm details in the KRC controller display
  2. 2Access the robot teach pendant and navigate to Maintenance > Mastering menu
  3. 3Select the affected axis and initiate the sensor location run (Referenzfahrt) procedure
  4. 4Follow the on-screen prompts to move the axis through its reference position and allow the controller to capture the encoder zero point
  5. 5Confirm that the mastering procedure completes without interruption and the reference position is established
  6. 6Power cycle the controller or press Acknowledge to clear the alarm and verify normal axis operation
