KRC0534

KUKA Robot KRC0534 - ONLY 8 $OUT_C[N] ASSIGNMENTS PER MOTION PERMISSIBLE

ONLY 8 $OUT_C[N] ASSIGNMENTS PER MOTION PERMISSIBLE

This alarm indicates that a motion instruction (PTP, LIN, CIRC, etc.) contains more than 8 $OUT_C synchronous output assignments. The KUKA KRC controller limits synchronized digital output modifications to a maximum of 8 assignments per single motion command to ensure deterministic motion control and prevent instruction conflicts.

Common Causes

  • Multiple $OUT_C array assignments bundled in a single motion statement exceeding the 8-assignment limit
  • Nested or cascaded output assignments within a motion block without splitting into separate commands
  • Programming error where outputs intended for different motion phases are combined into one motion instruction
  • Using array notation with multiple indices in $OUT_C assignments within a single PTP, LIN, or CIRC command
  • Legacy code conversion or template reuse that inadvertently consolidates outputs from multiple motion commands

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Review the motion instruction containing the $OUT_C assignments and count the total number of individual output assignments
  2. 2Identify which $OUT_C array elements are being modified in the problematic motion command
  3. 3Separate excess assignments by distributing them across multiple sequential motion instructions or use separate WAIT or set commands before/after motion
  4. 4Consider using $OUT (standard outputs) instead of $OUT_C if synchronization with motion is not critical for some assignments
  5. 5Consolidate related outputs logically to stay within the 8-assignment limit per motion statement
  6. 6Test the modified program and verify all intended outputs are triggered at the correct motion points
