KUKA Robot KRC0530 - Deleting Trace: no backward motions possible

Deleting Trace: no backward motions possible

Backward motion cannot proceed because editing operations or block selection changes have been made at a position that discards the execution trace. Once the trace is discarded, the system cannot reconstruct the kinematic and execution state required for backward stepping.

Common Causes

  • Deleting program lines or blocks at the current execution position causing trace loss
  • Making selections or edits to code that has not yet been executed in the current session
  • Clearing the program trace buffer through edit operations during active program execution
  • Modifying block definitions or inserting new blocks that alter the trace history
  • Executing block jumps or program restructuring commands that invalidate the stored trace data

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Stop the current program execution and restart from the beginning to rebuild the execution trace
  2. 2Undo recent editing changes using the editor undo function to restore the trace buffer
  3. 3Avoid making edits to the program while it is in an active or paused execution state
  4. 4Complete any pending program execution before performing editing operations on blocks
  5. 5Save the current program state and reload it to reinitialize the execution trace from the start
  6. 6Contact KUKA technical support if trace loss persists despite reverting edits and restarting execution
