KUKA Robot KRC0524 - Start continue not possible

Start continue not possible

This alarm indicates that the robot controller cannot execute a program start or continue command from a breakpoint or pause state. The BSTEP (Block Step) mode is active, preventing normal program flow resumption. This typically occurs when the controller detects incompatible conditions or missing prerequisites for resuming execution from the current program position.

Common Causes

  • BSTEP mode is enabled while attempting to start or continue program execution
  • Program counter is positioned at an invalid instruction or breakpoint that cannot be resumed
  • Axis positions have drifted or changed while program was paused, making safe continuation impossible
  • Motion commands are blocked due to safety interlock or emergency stop state not fully cleared
  • Variable or register values required for continuation are undefined or corrupted

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Verify BSTEP mode status in the controller and disable it if not required for current operation
  2. 2Check the program counter position and confirm the breakpoint location is a valid resumption point
  3. 3Press the Enable button on the teach pendant and verify the robot is in ready state without safety interlocks active
  4. 4Perform a full program reset using RESET command rather than attempting to continue from the current position
  5. 5Verify axis positions match expected values using the position display; manually jog axes to safe positions if necessary
  6. 6Clear any pending error states and reload the program file to reset internal program state before attempting restart
