KUKA Robot KRC0526 - Start point equal to end point

Start point equal to end point

This alarm occurs when a motion command is programmed with start and end points that are identical or separated by a distance below the system's minimum threshold. The KUKA KRC controller requires sufficient spatial differentiation between waypoints to execute valid motion interpolation, and this condition prevents the robot from performing the requested movement.

Common Causes

  • Identical coordinate values assigned to consecutive waypoints in the motion path
  • Rounding errors or floating-point precision issues causing coordinates to converge within tolerance
  • Copy-paste programming errors where the same point is used for both start and end positions
  • Incorrect variable assignments or undefined variables that default to the same position
  • Calibration or reference frame misalignment causing calculated positions to overlap

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Review the motion command in the KRL program and verify that start and end point coordinates are distinctly different with adequate spatial separation
  2. 2Check for variable assignments and ensure variables used for waypoints contain correct and unique coordinate values
  3. 3Examine the program logic for copy-paste errors or duplicate point declarations that may have been overlooked
  4. 4Verify axis limits and joint ranges are not constraining the motion to a single position
  5. 5Clear any cached coordinate values and reinitialize variables; recompile and reload the program to the controller
  6. 6If the issue persists, perform a teach pendant manual jogging test to confirm the robot can physically move between the intended positions without obstruction
